DESCRIPTION

Composite resin are a material that commonly used in dental treatment as a dental filling of tooth that already have decay or hole. This material comprises a mixture of plastic resin and powdered glass filler. Composite filling which have various matching colour with tooth colour is a common treatment in dentistry which replace the old amalgam filling. They are versatile and can be used to treat cracked tooth or big decay. A proper cleaning or tooth grinding is needed to remove all of bad decayed tooth structure that can prevent the bonding between tooth and resin filling. Bad decayed tooth structure also contain bacteria, which able to trigger pain or sensitivity after dental filling treatment. In case of deep hole or decay, an anesthetic injection may needed to remove the pain during dental filling treatment.

RISK AND COMPLICATION

• Sensitivity and pain after filling, if it become worse and unbearable please contact our dentist. Root canal treatment may needed to fix the pain.

• Composite filling can be chip, break, or loose too if the hole is too big, or have little retention area to the tooth.
