Teeth cleaning or scaling, also known as scaling, is a process done by a dentist to remove plaque and tartar buildup from your teeth. Plaque is a sticky film of bacteria that forms on your teeth throughout the day. If left untreated, it hardens and turns into tartar, which can lead to gum disease, cavities, and other serious dental issues.

Scaling is a simple procedure where our dentist in Bali Family Dental Care uses specialized tools like ultrasonic scaler to remove plaque and tartar from areas that your regular toothbrush can’t reach. It’s not painful, though it might feel a little uncomfortable at times and sensitive (sensitivity level during scaling might be different for each person), but it’s crucial for maintaining healthy teeth and gums.

• Need 1 appointment with 45 to 60 minutes chair side duration.

RISK AND COMPLICATION

• Sensitivity after teeth cleaning
• Loose teeth. If you have heavy tooth build up or plaque, and its already pressing the gum and the bone down (bone resorption), loose teeth may occur after the teeth cleaning treatment is finish. This is does not mean you should not clean your teeth forever so the plaque will hold it, as the tooth mobility will only become severe. Our dentist will give you an explanation and treatment considerations based on the severity of your teeth mobility.
• Gum bleeding. (Please check and inform our dentist if the issue persists 6 to 12 hours before the treatment or if there is heavy bleeding.)
